Leptospirosis is a bacterial infection that causes liver and kidney problems in dogs.  It is carried in the urine of infected mammals (raccoons, deer, mice, squirrels, etc.).  This disease is becoming more common in urban areas.  People can get Leptospirosis from affected animals.  We are recommending vaccinating against Leptospirosis if your dog is at risk.
